Bringing baby & maternity products into Brazil from Poland

In short

Entering Brazil with baby & maternity products from Poland hinges on the regulatory path (NCM classification, INMETRO certification) and keeping registrations in your own name. Scan the route before you commit budget or sign a distributor.

The regulatory path

NCM classification

Confirm the tariff code per SKU — it sets import duty, IPI and whether INMETRO or ANVISA applies. Childcare articles and toys are treated very differently from textiles.

1–2 wks

INMETRO certification

Mandatory conformity certification for childcare articles (artigos de puericultura — strollers, cots, carriers, bottles) and toys (brinquedos), via an accredited OCP. Held in your name, not the seller's or distributor's. This is the long pole and it gates customs.

12–20 wks

ANVISA registration / notification

Required for baby cosmetics, diapers, wipes and sanitizing products before first shipment.

8–16 wks

Portuguese labelling & safety warnings

Mandatory pt-BR labelling, age grading, CE-equivalent warnings and importer details.

2–6 wks

Recommended entry model

Marketplace cross-border first (Mercado Livre, Shopee, Amazon BR via the Remessa Conforme programme) to validate demand in weeks, not quarters — then a local importer/distributor for scale. Keep INMETRO and ANVISA registrations in your own name from day one.
